Mauritius as told by Guide Madhuri

I recently got chance to visit Mauritius in the month of October 2013. Trust me Mauritius is one of the best place for spending a holiday specially your honeymoon. Even non-honeymooners would love to visit this place. Such is the charm of the natural beauty and hospitality of the people here that you’d like to visit this place again and again in future.

Our trip was through the travel portal Makemytrip and they have made a wonderful arrangement of our 7 days trip to Mauritius. Staff of makemytrip was very professional especially Nidhi, who was responsible for making the booking like air tickets, hotel vouchers etc. She explained things nicely and was very patient to my questions that were sometimes stupid as well. I’d some communication gap from the operations team but they delivered the e-tickets, hotel vouchers etc well in time as they have promised. So I’d say the team of Makemytrip deserve a good ratings.

Our flight was early in the morning at 7:30 am from Indira Gandhi International airport. The flight is operated jointly by Air Mauritius and Indian Airlines. Flight was of around 7 hours. When you reach near Port Luis international airport named Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport  you got to take the first look of Mauritius from the air and you  are left amazed. Clear blue waters, green mountains and lots of sugarcane fields is all that you see.

Visa on Arrival: Since tourism is one of the main industry in Mauritius you easily get the visa on arrival, all you need is to show the return tickets and hotel vouchers. In case you don’t have a hotel reservation done you might need to show enough of enough currency of around 50$ a day per person.  In any case visa if free and can be obtained on arrival.

Hotel and Beach Resorts in Mauritius: Our stay was at the Jasla Beach resort, and its a nice resorts along the sea. Seaside holidays  cab picked us from the airport and we reached the beach resort after around 2 hours drive along the sea, it was a wonderful experience no signs of fatigue. I remember we were three couples travelling and all were busy clicking the pics and roads and driving there is excellent quality. We never knew when we reached the resort. We got a warm welcome at Jalsa resort, we spend the evening walking around the beach and our itinerary was there was the complete week with us. Next day cab driver Vicky was there to pick us for first day sightseeing and our tour guide Madhuri joned us on the way. Madhuri is an excellent guide who explained all the day’s activities nicely, she told us about history of maurituis and details of the places we visited like the sleeping volcanoes, Shiva temple, Ganga Talao, Grand Bassin, Chamarel etc. Special thanks to Madhuri for the sweets that she offered us on the Diwali eve. Madhuri you made our first Deewali at Maurituis special.

We enjoyed lots of beach activities like under sea walk, scuba diving, para sailing. Also trip to the Casela natural park was great.

Indian Number Plate Vehicles banned in Nepal

The CPN-Maoist party in Nepal has banned the entry of vehicles with Indian number plates in Nepal. This decision is highly criticized not only by Indian tourists but also from the people related to Nepal tourism industry.  Every year thousands of Indian tourists enter Nepal from Bhairahawa border via road using private or vehicles of various tour operators in India.

After the bane number of Indian tourists to Nepal has dropped to nearly half and the hotel and travel operators from Nepal predicts than this can drop further in the peak tourism season of Nepal. The peak tourism season in Nepal is from October to December.

Those readers who don’t know much about Nepal, I want to tell them that tourism is the main source of foreign exchange revenue in Nepal. Though tourism in Nepal is not highly advertised, the country is highly popular among trekkers and mountaineers. Please note that 8 of the 10 worlds highest mountain peaks are in Nepal, thus this country is a paradise for the hikers, climbers and people interested in Adventure tourism. Most popular peak is Mount Everest.

Birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha lies in Southern Nepal, thus it is a place for pilgrimage importance for many Buddhists people. The place name is Lumbini and it is a world heritage site.  Lots of Hindu devotes also visit Nepal for pilgrimage to largest temple of Lord Shiva in Kathmanu. Temple name is Pashupatinath Temple and there are mainly other Hindu temples in the region like Gosainkunda, Manakamana temple, Pathibhara to name a few.

Lets see if the CPN-Maoist soften their stand on the India Number vehicles entry in Nepal or do they let country suffer decline in number of tourists during the peak tourism season.

Tips: for your best Travel and Trip.

Traveling is the best exercise of mind and soul. It is best way to keep ourselves learnt and flexible with the environment and people. A wisely chosen trip is confidante to a person’s life and energy. A beautiful sought out trip become an example of beautiful moments of life. Life is too short to finish it in the walls of retarded daily office routines, on the plenty of streets crossed daily. Also regular looking faces and monotonic routines make life turned off. A trip or an outing can help you to take yourself out of such debacle. But an impromptu trip arrangement can become a immediate disaster if not planned wisely.
Here are some steps, tips and tricks to follow while you make your time out with your beloved or friends.

First and foremost things are of choosing a wise destination.
People should think of their own interests and hobbies before traveling out. Beware; keep your partners coordinated while you seek your plan for the good moments of your life. An un-arranged, off the cuff trip could turn into to disaster and enigma of what to do and what not to. As, people around will be not yours and not faithful and sincere too. So wisely choose the destination and confirm the status and updates of the location you are willing to go to. Great itineraries given by internet can be a great help here. Don’t ever feel absence of information and resources, there are things always to cover your specific needs and desires.

We expect a traveler slow down, hurry spoils this curry too.
Too many people try to force too much to visit a particular destination with the fullest and maximum of it. Don’t be one of them. Seeing a place unhurriedly is not so remunerative than considering numerous destinations in a flare. You’ll be strained to a smaller amount, expand a deeper thought of where you are and boast added moment in time to make associations with the public you meet.

Avoid the horde, to get aboard
A large number of natives could get a lot of trouble to a traveler, but places also have a lot to retreat. If you want to flee the crowds in the rambling conurbations, consider heading to the places like countryside, village, mountains, beaches, hill stations and old archaeological monuments and destination of spirituality.

Health is wealth, stay fit and healthy
Avoiding basic unhygienic stuffs around traveling destination could be easy to repent any health issue. Avoid tap water, and any foodstuff that may have been swabbed in. Toilets are disgracefully bad in some areas, and they may have health hazards. Consider galloping best air, best water, and best food in a hygienic area. Wearing tight clothes may be a fashion, but they can also cause physical problem in certain regions of the world.

Keep cool
Places in world are known for their scams and trickiness to foreign travelers. And it includes every country that has been accounted for good traveling area too. So better serve yourself with maps and prior information of the area before flying towards it.
Special alert for women traveler

Traveling is fun, but unlike men, women have her anxieties to be sought before traveling. Prior to everything, women are concerned with safety matters than men. Some women may like to flaunt their best clothing; fancy dress has no place in foreign countries, except when attending special events with security. While, exploring places as a tourist, try to wear clothes that help you merge with the crowd, or at least give the impression that you are not wealthy. Always keep in mind that some countries have dress codes for women. You need to pack clothing that is sensitive to the cultural and religious practices of the country you are visiting.

What is the best time to visit Malaysia?

In the last post I posted about Malaysia Travel Information and Vacation Packages

In that post I mentioned in the last line that one can visit Malaysia throughout the year but must avoid the rainy season mainly from the month of October to March. However when I research more about Malaysia and the best time to travel I found some interesting stuff to share with you. But before I let you know the best time to travel to this tourist’s paradise I want to share the reason I was researching more about Malaysia. It’s the fact that Malaysia is one of the countries I’ve shortlisted for my honeymoon destination.

Now let’s quickly let you know the best time to visit this country. You can enjoy visiting Malaysia during May to September and November-January.  Rest months are the one with heavy rains and a beach lover would always avoid that season.  November to January is also the rainy Monsoon season but one can visit this time as it’s the shopping and festival season.  Main festival celebrated during this time of the year in Malaysia is Christmas, New Year's Eve, Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Puasa.
